What is a family constellation?
Bijgewerkt op: 23 okt 2022
A family constellation is a kind of "tableau vivant" in which the family members who make themselves available are represented. The representatives are therefore not the real family members and it is not necessary for them to be present.
Without thinking about it, the representatives look for a place in the room.
They thus represent an image that provides information about the client's family system.
The basis is formed by the family in which you were born. Your parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts and a whole series of ancestors form, as it were, the clay from which you are modeled. All these people have left their mark on you. For example, events from generations back, such as war, abuse, crime, exploitation, abortion, emigration, adoption, the premature death of relatives, divorce, and so on, can often (completely unconsciously) affect the family. Patterns have thus emerged that affect all members of a family to a greater or lesser extent. Anyone born within a family system will always belong to this system and thus certain disturbances can remain in the family for generations as an unconscious and invisible influence.
